Beautiful Italy – part 1

It’s nice to realize how pleasant is visiting, discovering and admiring my country. I’m Italian and I have a lot of chances to go sightseeing around Italy. I’m going to write three blogposts about 3 Italian cities that I visited at Easter and today’s destination is..Milan!

I love going there more times a year, I usually go shopping and sightseeing at Christmas, Easter and on Summer holidays. This time I visited it with my friends and we had so much fun together. The journey took us about 45 minutes and we caught a train and the tube to reach it..it’s pretty near our city. We obviously stopped by Duomo Cathedral, Milan’s symbol and we took a lot of pictures. Even though we’ve seen it a bunch of times, we don’t get bored of it! Recently some cute palms have been put in front of the cathedral and it’s fun to think of visiting a seaside town. Most famous shops are along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, so we always walk down it several times. It’s often very crowded and there are buskers and mini shows. There you can visit the Rinascente: a huge store where you can find anything. After several escalators, on the top floor there is a restaurant and a cool view. Also at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele there are some shops, but big brands ones. The galleria is one of the world’s oldest shopping malls and has a lovely iron-and glass-roof. The largest park in the central area of Milan is Sempione park and it’s very lovely especially to picnic. Then it’s worth visiting Porta nuova business district that includes modern high rise buildings, a large park and an ice skating rink in winter!

In the afternoon we went to Arnold Coffee that it’s very similar to Starbucks and we had iced coffee with whip cream and a raspberry cheese cake. They were so good! Mine was with cinnamon and it was fantastic! It’s definitely my favorite cafe.

I hope you liked reading this blog post!

MAKE-UP question tag!

Hi everyone! Today I’m doing a girly blog post since I’m going to answer some questions that I found on the internet and they are going to be all about MAKE-UP.

-What foundation do you use? I’ve got the Teint miracle radiant foundation by Lancôme that is so good, but I don’t use it everyday. Undoubtedly when I want to do a complete make-up look this foundation is perfect and the coverage is awesome.

– How about concealer? I use my Radiant creamy concealer by Nars as a rule and I love it! It’s in the shade vanilla and it’s perfect for my everyday make-up looks!

-Do you know your undertone color? I don’t know exactly..but I think it’s neutral so neither warm or cool.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes? I’ve never used them and I think they’re too exaggerated, even though when I sometimes see girls wearing them I think they look pretty.

-Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months? Yes, but like most of girls I forget about it and I continue to use my favourite mascara, especially if it was very expensive.

-What brand of mascara do you use? I’ve tried lots of mascaras so far and my favourite one is the Better the sex mascara by Too faced. I also use the Falsies push up drama mascara by Maybelline.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application? I use two brushes to apply my concealer and foundation and a make-up sponge to blend them and other two brushes for my blush and powder.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes? No, I don’t. I’d like to buy one.

-For the face? No, I don’t usually use one.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)? My favourite shades are all the nudes, therefore I use my Naked, Ultimate basics palette by Urban Decay.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner? No, I’m not fond of eyeliner.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? I don’t use them, but I think they’re cool, if applied properly!

-Do you use mineral makeup? No, I don’t. It’s just for very special occasions.

-What is your favorite lipstick? My favourite lipstick is an old one bright pink by Chanel, but in my bag I always have my Lasting finish lipstick by Rimmel & Kate Moss in the shade nude 055.

-What is your favorite blush to use? It’s definitely the gorgeous Rockateur by Benefit!! It’s the best blush ever and I’d totally recommend it!

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay? No, I don’t. I always find my make-up at Sephora’s.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes? No, but I’d like to have a friend who is obsessed with make-up and very good at doing it so that I could have the flawless make-up done haha and obviously improve my skills!

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? In the beginning I was quite uncertain, but I watched lots of tutorials and I improved in putting it on.

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones? I prefer neutral ones.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use? Mascara!

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on? It depends where and with whom I go out.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on? Maybe, but at the moment I’ve got some horrible and annoying pimples, so i can’t do without using it.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line? hardest question. impossible question.

-What do you think of Makeup? I love it and I think it’s an impressive and fascinating form of art. It’s something you can feel passionate about and something you can play with. I agree that natural beauty is the most important thing, but in my opinion it’s more important to be yourself and happy with your person, so if make-up makes you feel good, you shouldn’t feel ashamed of wearing it.

I hope you liked reading this question tag. Have a nice day!

Spring Goals! 🌸🌸

How beautiful is Spring? I love this season: it renews my daily routine and it’s full of lovely sunny days and the temperature is perfect. I love taking photos of budding flowers: they’re so cute and..instagrammable!

spring

For this season that accompanies the last school days I’ve got some goals I’d like to reach and share with you guys.

Number 1: More workouts. Since the temperature is good because it’s neither hot nor cold in the afternoon, it would be great to go out in the open air and spend some time working out. During winter I just went to the gym very little, so it’s the right moment to improve my lifestyle and make an effort to stay active!

Number 2: New outfits. Spring time means bright colours, so I need to change my outfits a little bit and create new ones! Maybe something more flowery! haha

Number 3: More going out in the open air. School test are over so I have more time to hang out with my friends and enjoy nature. I absolutely need a break!

Number 4: Eat more healthily and drink more water. Last winter I ended up eating too many sweets and neglecting my body a little bit. I need to catch up with my balanced diet to help my skin get better and drinking a lot of water is always the best solution.

Number 5: Read more. It’s time to go back to carefree reading to let my mind stray. At the moment I’m loving Zoella’s latest novel..I got it quite a long time ago, but I haven’t finished it yet!!

Number 6: Visit new cities, places, exhibitions. This is the hardest point because of little time, but I hope I’ll be able to see new things and go sightseeing.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blogpost about Spring! Have you got any goals you would like to reach for this season?? let me know in the comments!

AMSTERDAM-Travel diary

Hello everybody! I came back from Amsterdam where I stayed with my classmates for 4 days. We also visited L’Aja and Delft on our second day there. It was always sunny, but very windy and chilly! As soon as we arrived, we noticed tons of bicycles parked next to the numerous bridges and lots of people cycling at the speed of light. The first thing we did was buying a travel card so that we could take a bus or a tram to reach the centre of the city then we went sightseeing. On the first day we visited the Van Gogh museum which was nice and well-organised. My favourite picture was Almond Blossom, in fact I bought the mobile case with the same flowery pattern on. It’s so cute! After the museum we looked for a restaurant to have lunch and since we had little time and were undecided, we just went to an Argentine restaurant and had some meat with chips. They were good and we had fun while trying to speak Spanish, thing for which we failed because we couldn’t remember much from our old lessons at middle school..haha. In the afternoon we met our guide who told us about the city and brought us to see the station, some lovely canals and the Flower Market. We took lots of photos at Dam square also while enjoying the city by night. In the evenings we had dinner at a typical pub near the Red Light district. The main courses were always soups, especially with mushrooms, then they served us some fish or meat with chips or some vegetables. We weren’t used to that kind of food at all, but I found it acceptable, actually I like tasting local dishes. At the end of the day we were so tired, but happy with our visit and, weird fact, every night after dinner, we burst out laughing! We always thought that it was because   of the mushrooms haha Then we fought against the wind and got to the bus stop late at night to come back to our hotel, the Meininger. Our room n. 529 at the 5th floor was nice and cosy and looked out over a little square. From the windows we could see a huge tower called “Crystal tower” which was cute to see early in the morning, illuminated by the sun. We got up at 7 am and there was four of us, so we had to be quick while preparing. I always managed to do my make-up properly in a short time: I surprised myself! For breakfast there were no croissants, thing that made me sad, but luckily there were some toasts, so from the second day onwards I started eating them smeared with Nutella ( at first I didn’t manage to find it ). I loved breakfast moments even though the room was a bit crowded due to several students visiting Amsterdam.

Here are a few pics I took of the city..follow my next blogposts for more!!

Our Flight’s Been Cancelled!!

As I said in my last blogpost, I was about to leave for Amsterdam, but this morning me and my classmates were told that our flight had been cancelled 😱 We were freaking out cause we were sick with worried so I thought to write something here to kill time since we had to wait so long for another flight. So here are some things you can do if your flight’s been cancelled:

💕Don’t panic! Deep breaths and lovely thoughts. You need to be optimistic at least once in your life, so think that you’re having (a new one, for me) an experience so that you’ll be prepared in the future. In short, think positive.

💕Listen to music! This helps a lot unwind and distract you from bad thoughts. And if you get bored due to stressful waits, music will be the perfect solution.

💕Rant by chatting to your friends. Don’t let the discomfort wear you out, so complain about everything with your best friend. If she/he isn’t with you, call her/him and bring her/him into your awkward world.

💕Go window shopping. You’re in an airport and there are lots of things to do and see haha Go around and let your mind relax.

What a beautiful start of Spring!! XP

A Stressful Week

Hi everyone! I’m sitting in my bedroom to write this blogpost, and it’s a bit late. I survived a stressful week, as a matter of fact I’m looking forward to going on my school trip to unwind. I’m going to Amsterdam with my classmates and I’m very excited, but kind of worried because I haven’t packed anything yet. I can’t wait for taking pictures, going sightseeing, having strolls, tasting new food..in short I want to travel. I just want to set off and unplug from my daily routine, even if it’s going to be only for 5 days. As I said it has been a stressful week. Firstly last Monday I was tested orally in science (it was about the nervous system) and history (I studied Napoleon), the next day I had another test about philosophy and on Thursday I had an Art test. It was hard to be prepared for all the tests properly and I feared to loose concentration, but luckily I managed to get good marks. Yesterday I took the FCE exam (I was tested on my speaking) which is the First Certificate in English, while this morning I completed the tasks for the other parts of the tests which included reading and use of English, writing (an essay and an article) and listening. The exam lasted about five hours and I felt very tired. I found the grammar part pretty easy, but the listening one was much harder than I expected. I really hope I did my very best. What has worked for me when I felt discouraged was breathing, repeating that “everything will be fine” and looking around because inspiration can be found in the simplest things that surround us.

Stay tuned because new blogposts about my trip are about to arrive!! Of course along with lots of nice photos!!

My Makeup Favourites!

Hi everyone! ❤️Welcome to my blog! It’s been so long since I last wrote a blogpost about beauty, so today I decided to talk about some makeup products that I’ve enjoyed using lately. The first product is my go to mascara and it’s the Falsies push up drama mascara by Maybelline. My friend got me it for my birthday and I’ve been using it since then: I couldn’t do without it! I admit that if I had to choose only one product to bring with me, I would say my mascara. Anyway this one from Maybelline is very fine and I think is suitable for giving volume to your leashes, but maybe it’s not perfect at lengthening them. So I would say it’s good for everyday makeup looks. Then another product I love is the concealer by Nars in the shade Vanilla. The packaging is amazing and so is the coverage! The first time I tried it I was amazed: it works almost like a highlighter, in fact it’s a radiant creamy concealer. The third product completes a makeup look giving a vivid colour to your cheeks: it’s the Rockateur blush by Benefit! After the concealer, I apply this blush and I’m really happy with the combination! In fact the packaging goes: “a show-stopping flush”…I love its effect!! It’s the perfect glowing and frosted blush and it also smells so good. I’m so excited for the fourth product..I wanted it so bad and I’m so happy to have it! It’s the Nyx Lingerie liquid lipstick n.15 in the shade “Bustier”! Its colour is almost undefinable and this fact makes it special. It’s a bit dark for me because I don’t usually use such dull colours on my lips, but this one is gorgeous and honestly I’m trying to test different lipsticks and change my usual makeup a little bit! It lasts quite a long time, but it obviously depends on what you do, for example if you go out for a meal, the colour fades gradually and your lips end up looking like they’re dirty..:(  but intact I think it’s so pretty! The last product is for skin-caring: it’s the refined finish facial polish by Benefit. (This beauty brand is so good!) I bought this face scrub mainly for my nose because it’s always red and irritated and I hope this product could help my skin to get better. I use it twice a week, one day after getting up and the other one while having a shower. It smells really good and helps smooth away imperfections, but I know I’ll have to use it steadily before seeing improvements.

These were my current makeup favourites, I hope you enjoyed reading this blogpost!
